Major: Spanish

Q: What benefits do you hope to gain from the CBP?
A:  I have always had high expectations for the CBP. Whether I work in the business world or another field, my hope is that the CBP will prepare me to carry out any assignment with which I will be entrusted. The program provides resume building workshops and I look forward to that experience in the near future. I also look forward to gaining acquaintances through networking, an unforgettable internship opportunity, and a successful career, all from what the CBP has given and will give me.

Q: What do you feel that you contribute to the CBP?
A:  My background is unique from other scholars, which I feel is an important contribution to the program, as I may be able to provide new ideas and suggestions from my previous experiences working and living in a Hispanic community in New York City. Also, with few foreign language majors in the CBP, my bilingual ability may be helpful. Most importantly, I feel that my enthusiasm for the CBP program is my most benefical contribution, as I hope to encourage current scholars and future scholars as well.

Q: What part of the program has surprised or interested you most?
A: Originally I thought that the CBP was simply going to give me helpful business classes to enchance my liberal arts degree, but I quickly discovered that the program includes so much more than just classes. There are so many workshops, networking opportunities, and live studies that truly help us develop our skills before we graduate. One aspect that has impressed me is the quality of the CBP internships.

Q: In what area are you interested in interning?
A: My dream internship would be at an institution of higher education, working in the student affairs or admission departments. I feel that experience where I can use my business, Spanish and computer skills would help me develop the necessary proficiency for a future career.

Q: How do you think the CBP will affect you after graduation?
A:  I believe that the CBP is the best way to find my first position after graduating. Even though my first job will most likely not be my lifelong career, the skill set the CBP is providing me will prepare me for any position opportunity. I am also confident that the networking experienced while particpating in the CBP program will be most beneficial in my professional life.
