Admission Criteria:

The CBP is a selective program designed to enhance a student’s liberal arts major with business experience for any career.  Though selective, there is not an admission cap.  Applicants do not compete against each other; all qualified applicants will be admitted. Each application is reviewed by the CBP Admissions Committee comprised of both faculty and alumni.

Admission will be based on three areas, none of which will serve as the sole determining factor:

Aptitude: Measured by the applicant’s academic performance and interpersonal communication skills. Successful CBP Scholars must be able to communicate effectively and work well with others to solve problems.

Engagement: The CBP is designed to promote future business leaders. Students admitted into the program should demonstrate engagement outside of the classroom through past volunteerism, participation in clubs or organizations, leadership positions, and community involvement.

Enthusiasm: Successful applicants will share an excitement about learning and exploring ways their education can be connected to life after Hanover College. The nature of the CBP requires students to interact and participate in activities that will assist them in preparation for the job market or graduate school.

Admission Process:

There are two opportunities for students to apply to the CBP. Either as high school students or during their sophomore year at Hanover College.

High School Applicants: High school student applicants must complete an application and submit a resume. Applicants will be evaluated based upon high school transcripts, test scores and level of engagement and experience as demonstrated on their resumes. After careful review, qualified applicants will be invited to campus for an interview. During this interview applicants will have the opportunity ot speak with CBP Scholars and faculty about the program. Applicants will be notified of acceptance into the CBP within one week of completing the interview. Applicants must apply to Hanover College before being admitted to the CBP.
